Live and work in beautiful west hartford

Connecticut was one of the first states to be settled once the pilgrims came over from England.  Naming the Northeastern region New England, Connecticut along with Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Maine makes up the New England region as it is known today.  Connecticut played a major role in early American history.  From fighting in wars to inventing, Connecticut has its fair share of rich history.  If you are looking to move to Connecticut from out of state or even moving within the state and you want a wonderful town to move to, please take a look at west hartford.  This picturesque town is located in Hartford County and was incorporated in 1854.  This date might sound late since most Connecticut towns were incorporated in the mid to late 1600’s.  The reason west hartford was incorporated so late is because it was a part of the Hartford parish up until this date. 
                 
As of right now, the population of west hartford is estimated to be a little over 61,000 people.  In 2008, west hartford was ranked 76th out of 100 in a list of 100 top towns to live in in the United States.  Another great ranking the town received was in 2008 when it was ranked tenth in the most educated town category by Money Magazine.  The town is made up of only 22 square miles and neighbors include Bloomfield, Newington, Farmington, and Avon.  This gorgeous town also has a mountainous ridgeline that stretches from Long Island Sound almost to the Vermont border.  This is a pretty impressive sight if you get a chance to see it.  The town of west hartford also boasts that it is 100 miles from Boston, Massachusetts and 100 miles from New York City.  That is a pretty great location if you are a New York Yankees fan or a Boston Red Sox fan!  West Hartford is easily accessible by highway or many local routes throughout Connecticut.  West Hartford also provides a busing system to get its residents to and from the big city of Hartford.  West Hartford has two high schools, Conard High School and Hall High School.  There are many elementary and middle schools and the one your children go to depends on where you live within the town.  If you choose to send your children to private school, there is also a wide range of schools to choose from.  Visiting each school and submitting applications is the only way that you will know what private school is right for you and your children. 

There are an abundance of things to do when you and your family live in West Hartford, Connecticut.  You can go shopping at Blue Back Square, Westfarms Mall, Corbin’s Corner, or West Hartford Center.  If nature is more your thing, there are many trails and parks to visit.  A great trail to see is at the MDC water facility where you can walk wooded paths and see the scenic landscapes of West Hartford.  Any way you look at it, West Hartford is a great town to live, work, play, and grow in.
